NEW: Denise Powell Caught Lying About Receiving Support from AIPAC-Aligned Group… AGAIN

Omaha, NE - On Wednesday, April 29th, Denise Powell was caught lying AGAIN about receiving support from an AIPAC-aligned group, Democratic Majority for Israel (DMFI). When asked live on 1st Sky Omaha, a local YouTube show, about taking money from AIPAC and DMFI, Denise again said she was not.

Just minutes after appearing on 1st Sky Omaha and claiming she isn’t supported by Democratic Majority for Israel, the Cavanaugh campaign released proof that DMFI is secretly spending on behalf of Denise Powell’s campaign through a third party after Powell publicly refused their money at a January forum.

On Monday, April 27, Democratic Majority for Israel (DMFI) PAC ran just $659 worth of television ads in support of Denise Powell’s campaign for Congress in NE-02. What was originally part of a $176,050 broadcast and cable television buy, was taken down late Friday afternoon, and the exact reservations (both dollar amount and cable/broadcast spots) were transferred to a different dark money group, the New Democrat Majority PAC, a super PAC affiliated with the New Democratic Coalition. 

This comes after Denise Powell publicly stated at a Young Democrats of Omaha forum when asked if she would refuse AIPAC or DMFI money, “Yes, I’m not accepting money from any special interest group in this category.” Video here, Powell answers at 2:20. 

The questions that every voter should be asking are: 

• Does Denise Powell support Democratic Majority for Israel’s agenda? 

• And with the known overlap of donors between DMFI and AIPAC, does Denise Powell support AIPAC’s agenda?

On Friday, April 24, AdImpact alerted that DMFI PAC was placing television ads. Full agreements between DMFI and local TV stations (buy sheets) can be found here: LINK

Later on Friday, April 24, local television stations and television buyers were alerted that DMF PAC was taking down their television buy and it was being transferred to the New Democrat Majority PAC. 

AND

On Tuesday, April 28, as is required by federal law, DMFI PAC submitted an FEC filing showing they had spent money OPPOSING John Cavanaugh. The report only shows $659 spent, as the rest of the planned buy was moved to the New Democrat Majority PAC. 

To summarize, DMFI is spending on behalf of Denise Powell and they are hiding the spending through the New Democrat Majority PAC because Powell has publicly rejected their support. Despite any claims to the contrary, Denise Powell is receiving support from Democratic Majority for Israel.
