Leading NE-02 Candidate John Cavanaugh Adds Congressman Jamie Raskin to Growing List of Endorsers

Omaha, NE – John Cavanaugh’s campaign announced the endorsement of Congressman Jamie Raskin, Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee and former Lead Impeachment Manager in the second impeachment trial of President Trump. Rep Raskin said:

“We need John Cavanaugh in Congress because we are in the fight of our lives and John is a tough and undaunted fighter for the common good. John is the strongest candidate in this race to win a pivotal district. If and when he comes to Congress, John will be a key voice and a key vote to uphold strong democracy and freedom, promote healthcare for our people, and confront vast economic inequality and the Trump affordability crisis. I look forward to working with him in a new political era.”

Rep. Raskin has represented Maryland’s 8th Congressional District since he ran for Congress in 2016 and prevailed in what was then the most expensive House primary election in American history. Before being elected to Congress, Rep. Raskin was a three-term State Senator in Maryland, where he served as Majority Whip. You can read more about him here.

John Cavanaugh said: “I’m thrilled to earn the support of Jamie Raskin. I’ve looked up to Rep. Raskin for years, and it means a lot to have his support and confidence in this race. Jamie has a real record of actually holding Trump accountable, and I look forward to bringing the same principled, thoughtful leadership to Congress.”

In addition to being endorsed by U.S. Representatives Jamie Raskin, Pramila Jayapal, and Ro Khanna, John Cavanaugh is endorsed by the Congressional Progressive Caucus and the Committee to Preserve Social Security & Medicare.
