Nebraska Building and Construction Trades Council Endorses John Cavanaugh for Congress in NE-02
This is yet another sign of Cavanaugh’s momentum in the final six weeks of the race. Cavanaugh is building a broad coalition that has the momentum to win both the Primary and General Elections.
Omaha, NE – John Cavanaugh’s campaign announced that John has earned the endorsement of the Nebraska Building and Construction Trades Council, which represents over 15,000 working people.
John Hanson, Secretary-Treasurer of the Nebraska Building and Construction Trades Council, said: John Cavanaugh is the fighter we need in Washington. In the state legislature he's been a real partner for labor. He goes the extra mile, always shows up for us, and he is in this race for the right reasons. The Building Trades enthusiastically supports John's candidacy and our 15,000 plus members will be putting in the work to make sure we elect John Cavanaugh.”
John Cavanaugh said, “I’m grateful to have the support of the Building Trades. Working people deserve leaders in Washington who work for them, not big corporations or special interests. I’m proud of the work I’ve done with labor in the State Legislature and look forward to working with them in Congress.”
John has eleven other local labor union endorsements, including the Nebraska AFL-CIO, and is endorsed by environmental groups like the Sierra Club and NRDC Action Fund. He is endorsed by leading anti-corruption organization, End Citizens United, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC, and by leading seniors’ groups such as The National Committee to Preserve Social Security & Medicare and Social Security Works.
Cavanaugh leads in every poll that has been released to the public. In January, the campaign released a new poll showing his lead growing to 43% among a seven way primary field. Cavanaugh is refusing corporate PAC money and running to stand up to Trump, lower costs, and fight corruption.
